Central Europe - A New Dimension of Heritage
01.06.2001 - 02.06.2001
Our complex approach to various problems connected with cultural heritage is linked in our work with the need for continous identification of challanges which result from dynamic relationship between the civilisation of the end of the 20th century and historical heritage. This is a case of a specific feedbanc: contemporary civilisation continually modifies our view on heritage, and heritage unceasingly verifies our attitude towards civilisation. These issues were the fundamental points of the conference. The title indicates the two significant areas on which the ICC interests focus, namely the multidimensional aspects of the notion of Central Europe and the experience of the region in the formulation of a new attitude to heritage and its preservation at the turn of the 20th and 21st century.
