Annual Meeting of the Heads of National Networks of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation

In October 2011, the International Cultural Centre in Krakow, the co-ordinator of the Polish network of the Anna Lindh Foundation, took great pride and honour in hosting an annual meeting of the national co-ordinators of the Anna Lindh Foundation representing 43 countries of the Union for the Mediterranean. Moreover, the ICC seat welcomed the Secretariat of the Anna Lindh Foundation (including the Director and President of the ALF) as well as representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the before mentioned 43 states – the Higher Officials of the Union for the Mediterranean and the members of the ALF Board of Governors. The events were officially enlisted in the calendar of the Polish Presidency by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting offered a unique opportunity to wrap up the activities of the period about to end and to prepare an action plan for the upcoming period covering the years 2011-2014. The ICC wisheed to share some of the Polish achievements in the field of intercultural dialogue (including the activities of the members of the Polish ALF network) with individuals from 43 countries of the Union for the Mediterranean who represent a variety of institutions from the region (public institutions, NGOs, universities and research centres, regional and central authorities). The highlights of the meeting included a series of cultural events which will familiarise the participants with the outstanding achievements in contemporary arts and culture of the region. The spaces related to Polish history and heritage saw high-quality artistic productions, such as a concert of classical music (October 21), theatrical performance (October 22) as well as an international debate Culture for social change (October 22).
